Actions Speak Louder Than Words

We were very lucky to speak with Nicole Byrne, Wedding & Events Executive at the Parkview Hotel, Wicklow. She told us all about the team and also why a bride burst into tears once!!!

“I spend many months building a relationship with each Bride & Groom and getting to know them on a personal level from the initial wedding show around, to discussing their individual requirements, showing family members our beautiful Park Suite, to their menu tasting & the final meeting prior to their wedding – as well as in between with any queries they might have. I am always at the end of the phone for anything that might pop up & I absolutely love what I do.”

“It’s a team effort from everyone – I would have numerous meetings with all Heads of Departments to inform them of all requirements for upcoming Weddings. Our Reception Staff would become familiar with each Wedding a couple of months prior to the big day as they would be taking accommodation bookings. The Chefs need to be familiar with all Wedding Menus & requirements as they would assist in the Menu Tasting- Our Housekeeping Department would prepare the Bridal Suite with Flowers & Chocolates for the newlyweds, cleaning all Bedrooms as well as assisting in any other requirements. The Ballroom normally takes about 3 hours to set up from start to finish, including our suppliers covering our chairs.”

“We can set our Park Suite to any set up the Bride & Groom require & I am on hand to advise them what set up would best suit their requirements such as where the top table should be placed in the room, the various centre pieces they can avail of, what flowers they would like & whether they would like them in martini glasses, fish bowls or large vases . We cater intimate Wedding settings to a much larger Wedding setting, as the Park Suite is so versatile, with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the terrace.”

“We host Civil Ceremonies & once the legal guidelines have been approved it’s pretty much set to go. As there is only one fabulous Park Suite, this is where the Civil Ceremonies take place. The Bride & Groom have 2 options in regards to set up – we can just set for the Civil Ceremony & re- set for Dinner after the Ceremony has taken place or we can have pre-set some tables in the Park Suite while the Ceremony is taking place. I normally advise Bride & Grooms to opt for a complete re-set, as when their Guests are called for Dinner and enter the Park Suite it is like a whole different room with all the personal touches for each Wedding. Couples can also now get married outside so we can set up on the terrace with our water fountain, plants & flowers as their backdrop ”

“It is very rewarding to see the Brides, Grooms and Guests blown away and to know that you have exceeded their expectations and more. We get lots of great feedback- Actions speak louder than words for me though, before one of our Brides burst into tears when she saw the Park Suite. ”

We are so happy that bride was crying happy tears! Thanks to Nicole for sharing this great insight into the Parkview Hotel, Co. Wicklow wedding venue.
