We’ve heard of some interesting goings on at Clanree Hotel, Letterkenny, recently. Since July of last year, under new ownership, the wedding venue, voted Best Donegal Venue by our WeddingDates couples, has begun some amazing refurbishments to their fabulous property.
Annette at Clanree Hotel mentioned that these new developments blend in very nicely with the venue’s original look. “Once the new owners got settled and a real feel for the Hotel, they felt overall the Hotel deserved a new look.” She added “They had a strong vision for the pubic bar previously called Oscars Bar, which would have most likely been described as a standard Hotel Bar, well not anymore!! They opened a newly renovated and highly anticipated McGettigan’s Bar in late November 2013, the new bar is stylish & sleek, and once you enter you feel like you could be in any cosmopolitan city; the bar offers a whole new experience for the guest at the Clanree Hotel!”
We have to say, we couldn’t agree more! The gorgeous bookcase walls blew us away with a perfect combination of contemporary style and traditional looks; something that isn’t easy to achieve! This is certainly a look that carries over to their new ballroom. “The ballroom itself is superb; it has been given a whole new lease of life, from the cool colour scheme, the impressive mood lighting on the ceiling, the chandeliers, a new bar and new ladies & gent’s restrooms”, says Annette.
Annette goes on to mention it was a welcome change for the venue although couples “couples continued to book their weddings as they were confident of the Clanree Hotels legendary service and good food”. She added; “all of our couples, guests and regulars looked forward to see the developments of the ballroom, especially when they had seen the result of McGettigans Bar, and we were pretty excited to show off the new lightning and the fresh new feel to the room.”
