Aqua, sparkle and lots of fun by the beach.
When it came to choosing a location for their special day on 31st March 2016, going back to where love blossomed along the Wild Atlantic Way was the perfect choice.
Studying Culinary Arts Management at university in the UK, Elin decided Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa would be the perfect opportunity for her second year placement. It was here, on arrival for her Irish adventure in West Cork, that she met Dan on her first day staying in staff accommodation.
“Dan asked if I would like help with my luggage. Being a typical Welsh girl, I was stubborn and said no!”
The rest they say is history and on a trip to Cardiff searching for a graduation dress, Dan booked a romantic stay at a five star hotel near the bay.
After an evening of cocktails and dinner, the pair strolled back along the sea front. Elin suggested they copy Jack and Rose’s infamous Titanic scene when they came across a replica of the front of a ship. But, Dan was nowhere to be seen and when she turned around, he was down on one knee!!
Their wedding day was full of laughter and lovable poses – including a sneaky first kiss between the bride and groom when they were announced newlyweds – the priest forgot to say ‘Kiss the bride’!!
Beautiful bridal bouquets of ivory and different shades of pink popped against the charming aqua bridesmaid gowns. While Elin wore a stunning fishtail dress with subtle sequin detailing – and her jewellery was just divine.
“There was no decision about our wedding venue. It made sense to us both that it was where we both met. Inchydoney Island Lodge & Spa will always be part of us.
“The whole day was just fantastic. The location, the weather, the staff, the food. Everything was exceptional.”
“I would not like to call Emma our photographer; I would like to call her our friend. Emma was fantastic. She was so warming and inviting as a person. We like to call her Spider Woman as she was here one minute and then somewhere else the next – fast on her feet. She did not only concentrate on myself and Dan, but also the guests as well. The images she has produced are fantastic.”
Huge thanks to Elin and Dan for sharing their special day with us and to their photographer Emma Jervis for allowing us to publish these lovely moments. You can see more of her work at www.emmajervis.com
