Confetti magazine’s €40,000 Bride of the Year 2010 prize was scooped by Malahide couple Sandra Murray and Jonathan Sheerin. But their dream wedding will be a firmly southside affair, with a reception at Dun Laoghaire’s Royal Marine Hotel a major part of their fantastic prize.

The Bride of the Year 2010 competition features Confetti’s best ever prize package and includes everything the happy couple will need for the biggest day of their lives. From dresses to flowers, cakes, lingerie and gents suiting to jewellery, entertainment, beauty and hairdressing, this prize really does have it all.
Fireman Jonathan and Vodafone employee Sandra met when they moved into the same apartment block. Friendship came first, and then love blossomed, with Jonathan proposing two years later in the place where they’d first kissed – Sandra’s sitting room. Our groom-to-be popped the question very romantically with a few added extras like rose petals, candles and Champagne.
The bubbly pair came top in a judging round with judges Laura Bermingham (TV3), Confetti editor Ciara Elliott and WeddingDates.ie and Dragon’s Den contestant Ciara Crossan all suitably impressed with their energetic personalities, obvious devotion to each other and sheer enthusiasm for the competition and prize.
A second round of video voting on Confetti.ie sealed the deal for Sandra and Jonathan, who garnered the most votes of all the seven couples who made it to the final.
Their wedding will take place at the Royal Marine Hotel on May 6th 2011.
