Registry Office Vs Church Wedding

Something that many soon-to-be-married couples struggle with is the whole church Vs registry office option for their wedding ceremony.   Now, while Ireland is still quite a conservative country with the majority of weddings taking place in Roman Catholic Churches, many couples are uncomfortable having to ask “permission” from a priest to get married and then solemly swear to raise their children in the Catholic Church.  MJ wrote a great post over on her Blog “Didn’t Get the Wedding Gene” about an alternative to this tricky situation.
