Tips for an Autumn Wedding

Tips for an Autumn Wedding

Autumn has something very special about it when it comes to planning a wedding. The chill of a winter’s evening hasn’t quite set in yet and the colours of autumn are creating a beautiful atmosphere. We caught up with Patricia at Oriel House Hotel, who gave us an insight into tips for an autumn wedding.

“The colors of autumn excite me. All the different shades that can be used to decorate the room and ideas for photos of the bride and groom,” Patricia explains as her favourite aspect of an autumn wedding. She also mentions that wedding photos can look incredible at that time of year. “The regional park which is 2 minute drive from Oriel is amazing in autumn. The walk way and by the river can be a breathtaking backdrop for photos. The scenery is amazing, so all the couple needs to do is be themselves and relax!”.

Patricia also mentions that the changeable weather is also important to consider: “It;s Ireland of course we have to plan for 4 seasons but we need to accept this also and not let it spoil the big day. Making your guests feel comfortable is always important, so offering umbrellas at the ceremony or reception is always a nice idea.”

And when it comes to wedding worries, Patricia mentions that most couples have the same concerns. “A lot of couples worry about the weather on their day not matter what month they’re planning to get married in. As well as this, they get concerned about where they can take photos if it is raining. But, we have that covered as the Oriel House Hotel has a great mix of old and new with our 18th century building. Photos can be taken in our beautifully enclosed courtyard, magnificent staircase in the main lobby and in our exclusive 18th century tower in the bridal suite.”
