Wedding Cake Ideas of the Week

Cake of the Week

A bag of Wine Gums usually doesn’t last 5 minutes in the WeddingDates office… We all seem to have a sweet tooth! Even worse than that, we’re all huge cake fanatics. Every other week, it seems there is a reason for cake (or we find one!). But, not all of us love the same flavours, and it got me thinking, what if your wedding guests are the exact same? Everyone likes something different, so is there a way to well, have your cake and eat it too? As it turns out, there actually is! Here are some great choices for those who want something a little different for their wedding cake.

Cake pops

For those with a big sweet tooth and sense of fun, cake pops are the right choice. With a cake each guest can claim their own, individually decorated cakes are just the right choice for everyone! Why not team this up with a little toppings table for your guests to add some fun to their cakes

Cupcakes

Cupcakes made a huge comeback at weddings and parties a few years ago, and they’re not going anywhere! They’re so pretty and individual… and very hard to resist! We love the idea of decorating your cupcakes with a motif, they could also make for lovely décor at your reception table.

Macarons

Yum… an Irish classic. You can’t beat a good macaron. Another big dessert that is a current sweet craze, they are perfect for batch making. Why not include them as wedding favours and make them yourself? Here is a great recipe we found on BBC Food.
