We caught up with Maura at Ballykisteen Hotel to get a little insight what goes into preparing for an event like their fair this Sunday….
Preparing for a wedding event must be all hands on deck! Is it a big team effort to put all of this together?
Yes indeed, it is a big effort for everyone. There are lots of decisions to be made before the organisation gets underway and when everything is decided, it’s all go!
The day of a wedding fair is so important to us as it gives us a chance to show off the hotel in all its glory.
Where do you begin when organising an event as huge as this?
Firstly the date has to be set at the right time. The suppliers need to be contacted about the fair. All of our brides and grooms and couples that are potentially looking at Ballykisteen need to be informed.
There is a flurry of advertising that needs to be done and much, much more. It is a very busy time!
Any advice to couples for couples attending events like yours? Are there any key questions they should ask?
Of course! An important question is how many the venue can hold. It is important that the venue can cater for the amount of guests. Quality of food and service is a great question too and it is worth getting reviews about this from other online sources such as WeddingDates, Tripadvisor, etc
Ballykisteen is renowned for its ‘Military Service’ and is a great talking point among guests. The Beef wedding dinner is also renowned at Ballykisteen. There are so many bits and pieces to take into consideration but they would be the big three items to note.
