are second to none - particularly the fabulous Jackie Day who was our wedding planner, and Trevor and Kay who also helped to expertly manage the day. They were completely focused on making sure that we were relaxed and happy about things from the time of our initial visit to the hotel; right up to the wedding day itself and beyond. We organised our wedding while living abroad, which brought its own challenges, and they couldn't have been kinder and more understanding in all their dealings with us throughout.

We were particularly impressed by the warm welcome bestowed upon both of our families as they checked in the night before the wedding - we really felt completely at home straightaway and fully able to wind down after a busy week of organisation! Our guests all loved the food on the day; from the drinks reception canapes to the wedding meal itself and the snacks at midnight. The function room was just the right size - intimate and located away from the main body of the hotel so that we had privacy. There is also a beautiful spa, Italian restaurant and golf course so there were plenty of other facilities to enjoy over the weekend.

We organised our flowers and make-up with suppliers in the village of Castlemartyr so there are a lot of excellent wedding-related amenities close by as well. There are a great range of accommodation options available in the hotel - from suites to self-catering group lodges on the grounds - which provided great flexibility for our guests.

In summary, an absolutely fantastic venue which left us with charming memories of consummate professionalism, gentle generosity and good humour. Many thanks Castlemartyr!

the celebrations as much as possible!) we decided to have a 3-day affair for our wedding. A major benefit to Castlemartyr is that it provided the ideal venue for this - we were able to have food and drinks with our guests in Castlemartyr both the night before the wedding, and the day after the wedding! Once we moved into Castlemartyr we did not have to leave - so even though our wedding was just 1 day, it felt like we got excellent value for money as we were actually around the venue for 4 days. Castlemartyr is the perfect wedding venue, for many reasons:

1 - Staff: The staff at Castlemartyr are so friendly, helpful and professional. From as far back as when we were enquiring about having our wedding in Castlemartyr, to staying there for our Wedding Tasting, right up until our Wedding Day weekend, all staff were so courteous and pleasant to deal with. All of our guests also found the staff to be so friendly and polite, and excellent at their jobs.

2 - Wedding Planner: When you book your wedding at Castlemartyr you are assigned a wedding planner - which is an excellent bonus. Our wedding planner was Elaine and she helped us with absolutely everything relating to the wedding reception. It was great to have someone there that you could rely on every step of the way. Elaine was a true professional, and it was clear that she loved her job which is nice to see. She went above and beyond for us!

3 - Grounds: Castlemartyr Resort is a stunning venue - our wedding photos and wedding video look like something right out of a bridal magazine as ALL areas are so picturesque!

In conclusion, I would highly recommend Castlemartyr to any couple looking for a 5 star wedding venue.

welcoming Olivia only seven months prior to our wedding day. We only travelled three times to Ireland prior to the wedding so email and phone calls was all we could have to communicate. Having said that, Jackie and her team seem to have their computers glued to their hands. I doubt there was a time we had to wait for more than 1-2 hours for a reply. Each time the replies were detailed, accurate and reassuring. We quite took the back seat for a few weeks knowing Jackie had everything under control. This however resulted in us changing our minds on some details quite close to the wedding day... a wedding planners worst nightmare you'd imagine. The resort never made us feel unreasonable or uncomfortable with our requests and ALWAYS tried their best (and managed) to satisfy our desires. Even when it lashed up until one hour prior to the outdoor ceremony, the staff where locked and loaded and set up outdoors in record time. Yes, we were graced with enough dry weather to finish our ceremony. The pictures are awesome! The venue was beautifully set. There is a sense of privacy that separates you from the hotel guests, which was what we primarily looked for. My groomsmen/best man had quite the good life at the wedding - the resort were on top of things, most often kindly nudging me with the days schedule.. not intruding at all. The food and beverage service, is equal to no other in my opinion. None of this deceiving belly filling gimmicks we've all seen at weddings. Quality meats, fresh produce and an excellently well balanced menu. My guests still speak of our wedding. I would also add a 6th star category, 'Personal', which is what Castlemartyr has made this to be. Thankyou.

absolute pleasure and nothing was too much for them. The level of professionalism, care and flexibility was second to none and I cannot recommend Castlemartyr Resort and their amazing staff enough. The food was incredible and all of our guests commented on the venue, the food and the amazing atmosphere. It is a day we will always always treasure and we will never forget the treatment we got.

helpful throughout. The food is a particular highlight at Castlemartyr with many of our guests astonished at the extremely high standard. Rooms at the Resort are another highlight, again many of our guests were blown away by them. Overall, we would highly recommend Castlemartyr to any couple looking for a 5 star experience for their special day! We cannot wait for our next stay at the Resort!
