From the moment we sat down with her in December 2020 to discuss our wedding, right up until our wedding day in July 2022, she was a joy to be around. From her sheer professionalism, to her incredible organisation, from her immediate replies to emails to her tips and advice, we honestly loved every step of the journey with Claire! On our wedding day she was amazing, working both in front and behind the scenes to ensure that everything kept ticking over on time. Even her eye for detail is amazing - laying out our photographs, sweets table, signs and baskets in the most wonderful way!

There is such a warmth from once you walk in the door of Knockranny and this is down to the incredible staff. From the lovely ladies on the front desk, to the bar staff, the cleaning staff to the function room staff - each and every member always had a smile on their face and made all of our guests feel so welcome.

From speaking to many of our guests - there has been no question as to their standout part of the day... our wedding meal (or "feast" as it has been named my some family members!)
Our wedding meal was simply outstanding!! Each course was of the most sublime quality, impeccable presentation and sheer class. There wasn't one single negative comment about any aspect from the meal and coming from two family of foodies - that is REALLY saying something!

Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and we know that we have Claire and all of the staff at Knockranny to thank for that.

location for outdoor pictures and saved us having to travel to another location on the day.
The drinks reception space was comfortable and allowed our guests to relax and mingle in a private area prior to sitting down for the meal.
Every single course of our dinner was delicious with many availing of the generous offering of seconds (and in some cases thirds!). The service during dinner and until the early hours of the morning was excellent.

We only wish we could do it all over again in Knockranny!

The venue itself is stunning and all the staff are so unbelievably nice and accommodating! Anyone we dealt with onsite was so professional and helpful! The rooms are stunning and the spa is top class! I have to commend John Durkan the head chef who made sure that the dinner was out of this world! Our guests raved about the food and the dinner service was seamless! I also have to commend the bar tenders! Every cocktail was spot on and everyone had a drink in their hand at all times!
I would recommend anyone to have their wedding in Knockranny for the ballroom alone! It is huge and stunning!! Everything is laid out perfectly and they run a seriously tight ship where everyone knows exactly what is going on! I really can't say enough good things about the hotel! They even gave us a complimentary night's stay for our first year anniversary and honestly, we can't wait to go back!

Claire at the beginning to the day of our wedding, she was absolutely brilliant and we had full confidence in her! Nothing was a problem. She made everything work and it took the worry of us as we knew how efficient she was.

All of our guests made it their business to tell us how good each course of their meal was- a lot said it was the best food they ever had!

The bedrooms and the sheer class of the hotel was another talking point amongst guests. We got all our photos outside the hotel with the spectacular view of Croagh Patrick in the background.

I would not hesitate in recommending Knockranny Hotel. You will be guaranteed the best day of your lives, as I know we had!!

have asked for a more helpful co-ordinator than Claire. She is exceptional at her job. She had everything under control and we never had to worry about anything in the lead up to the wedding. On the day itself we could not praise Claire and her staff enough. The food, the service, the atmosphere, the rooms, everything was 10/10. Every single guest commented on how great the food was. We are so so happy we made the decision to get married in Knockranny. For any couple out there even slightly considering this as your wedding venue just go for it. I wouldn't even hesitate in recommending to everyone I know.

The service and Staff on the day were impeccable. The Christmas decor was beautiful. The hotel had a really personal touch. The owner even attended to us at our meal. The wedding meal itself was well received by everyone. It was extremely delicious and tasty. When they offered seconds of everything and anything, people had nowhere to put it. Even the canapés at the reception kept flowing. I honestly can't do the day justice in words. But you won't be disappointed with Knockranny House Hotel & Spa. I am not from the area so I checked in the night before, got ready there for my wedding day and stayed the night after. From start to finish, it was truly magical.

Claire was so easy to deal with from the very start. No request was ever a problem. She made life very easy for us and we will be forever grateful to her. After having to postpone for a full year due to the pandemic, Claire was always at the other end of the phone or email to offer support and guidance. She really is one of the best in the business & we would recommend Knockranny to anyone searching for their wedding venue. If you choose Knockranny you will not be disappointed!

We had to reschedule our wedding once due to the pandemic, and Claire and all the staff in Knockranny made this process seamless and helped reduce the stress for us. wedding. Even if it was a silly question about something, she always replied promptly and put us at ease. She was just brilliant on the day, by always making sure everything went smoothly. We didn't have to worry about a single thing and we can't thank her enough for that.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service on the day was second to none. Not only was the food great but it was piping hot, exactly what you want for your Winter Wedding! The hotel and function room was decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations. We got some amazing photos there. The function room was lovely and spacious, something that made everyone feel comfortable.

All of our guests were so impressed with the bedrooms, so many of them have already booked to stay a night again. They are still talking about the beautiful rooms, great food and excellent service on the day.

We can't thank you all enough for making our day so perfect. We will definitely be recommending the Knockranny House Hotel to other couples.

before the day was a task in itself. Throughout it all, Claire was nothing but kind, patient and supportive. At the end of every phone call, she took time to answer our questions or make more changes to align with the changing circumstances.

The function room on the day was absolutely beautiful. The size of the room meant our guests didn't have to worry about being crammed in/too close to each other, but at the same time the room didn't look sparse. It was beautifully set up by the hotel team and the venue decor company. Having a separate drinks reception room is also brilliant. So many hotels nowadays skimp on this, so guests are left mingling in the lobby with other guests who are checking in. Not at Knockranny House Hotel, the wedding area is self contained but spacious with an outdoor space. The same goes for the bridal suite. It was the biggest of all the venues we viewed, which is important when there are six ladies to get ready.

The food was delicious and presented very tastefuly on the plate. Our guests commented on how it far exceeded the usual salmon/beef served at weddings. And there was definitely no shortage, seconds and thirds were offered. Service on the day was also excellent, the staff was very helpful and nobody wanted for anything.

Knockranny House Hotel is a really classy venue, and Claire and her team are an absolute pleasure to deal with. We are so glad we picked Knockranny House Hotel for our special day. Special thanks to Claire!

but the support we received from our wedding Coordinator, Claire, was second to none. She is wonderful at her job and every hotel should have a ‘Claire’ in their lives. there was nothing she could not do for us. A couple of days before our wedding the numbers went from fifty to twenty five. but when I rang Claire to advise her that we were going ahead she reassured me that all would be fine. When we arrived the night before Claire had moved the wedding venue to a smaller room and it was just wonderful. So all went so well and really that was down to the management and staff from Knockranny. Ourselves and our families had a great weekend and like I said Knockranny made it feel all normal. I cannot recommend Knockranny highly enough for a wedding venue. From the food, the hotel venue it is just wonderful. Claire Concannon, the wedding coordinator, is amazing!! Her vast experience and confidence in her role was obvious as soon as we met her – she was so accommodating and gave us fantastic advice throughout our planning. She was always available over email or phone and we knew we were in capable hands.

We were the hotel’s last wedding of a very busy Christmas season, but in the days before, the staff made us feel like we were the only wedding they had to think about - we called to the hotel on numerous occasions during this time and there was always someone waiting to meet us and help us however they could. These meetings made us feel so relaxed as we could tell that everything was under control.

My family and I stayed in the hotel the night before the wedding, and it was one of the best decisions we made! The penthouse is amazing and so luxurious; it was the perfect backdrop for our preparation and the morning photos.

We had total trust in Claire and her team (a special word of thanks to Nick and Michael!). We were treated like royalty – nothing was too much to ask, but we didn’t have to ask because they had it covered! The day ran so smoothly and was even more wonderful than we ever could have imagined. Our guests were so impressed with everything about the hotel, and the food was incredible.

Knockranny are the wedding experts. The food is outstanding, the ballroom is beautiful, the rooms are classic and elegant, and the staff are superb. We wouldn’t change a thing about our day. If you’re looking for excellent and professional service, and you want your wedding day to be perfect, look no further!

unbelievable wedding coordinator) to see the hotel, go through our options and look at available dates. We fell in love with the hotel and the scenery straight away. Once we decided on a date for the wedding Claire was like our wing woman from then on. Nothing is a problem for this lady and she makes everything look so easy. She also gave us great advise throughout the entire planning process.
Then there was the tasting night. This was definitely my favourite part when it came to the organising. We went to Knockranny one evening to taste different options for the wedding menu with our family. My mouth waters even thinking about it now. We could have put everything on the menu so picking a few from what we tasted was the difficult part.
On the day everything was better than we both imagined. The food in the cocktail bar before the meal was so tasty and the ballroom looked beautiful. People are still commenting on how amazing the food was on the day. That is something I can guarantee you wont have to worry about on the day.
The bridal suite...you wont see anything else like it. I don't have words for how amazing it is, just book an appointment to meet with Claire and she will give you a tour. Wow isn't a strong enough word!
You cannot go wrong with booking this venue for your wedding. We both look forward to attending weddings here in the future because it is such an amazing place.

I wished with no problems. There was no moment where I was stressed or worried about anything at all as Claire is very experienced and is always at the other end of the phone/email and always replies very promptly. The knockranny hotel and staff have a consistent track record in all areas for weddings and any event/occasion. The day went perfectly with all the staff working hard and so professionally and made us feel so special on the day going above and beyond for us. No other place like it in my opinion. You cannot go wrong cannot beat this venue and wedding coordinator, Claire. Thank you so so much.

was over email- but the food, the room (everything down to the lighting, background music, and table decorations), the flow of the day, the second day celebrations- nothing could have been better.
Claire responds to every email so quickly and with more than the necessary information and she meets bride and groom (and any of their family members) as many times as they wish before the big day.
We had the most special time and we were made to feel like we were the only people in the hotel the whole time we were there. Every last staff member was absolutely superb and so attentive to every guest, and the food was delicious! Thank you to every person at Knockranny House for making our time there so incredible - we cannot thank you enough and can’t wait to go back to relive all the memories!!

taken care of with no fuss. Claire's attention to detail and knowledge of every possible scenario really made us so, so relaxed. The venue itself was just absolutely amazing. The common trend we are hearing from all our guests is 'the food was the nicest we have ever had at a wedding" and we agree with our guests....it was incredible! The whole day and night was way beyond what we expected and it was just flawless. One of the things we loved so much about Knockranny is that you are made to feel so special, we were welcomed by the owners themselves and made to feel so welcome. We stayed an extra two nights after our wedding and even though there was another wedding the next day, Claire still made sure every time she saw us to say hello and check that we were OK. always knew we wanted to get married back where he and his family is from. We assumed wedding planning from 3000 miles away would come with a long list of challenges but thanks to Knockranny’s Wedding Coordinator, the phenomenal Claire Concannon we couldn’t have been more wrong. Claire simply was everything you hope your wedding coordinator would be. While she is organized and works to get everything done, she also has this calming way about her. We couldn’t have been less stressed over our international wedding of over 300 guests- we just knew Claire and her team had it under control.
It’s been just about 2 months now since our wedding and we are still getting texts, calls, and shouts from our guests that we run into that it was one of the best weddings they’ve been to. The best Craic. The best food (seriously- this was one of the things we heard the most. The food was UNBELIEVABLE). The nicest hotel rooms. It’s so nice hearing we chose a place that our guests were treated as well as the bride and the groom themselves were. We couldn’t believe how accommodating the hotel was to our party, not just on the day but the entire weekend we were there. Everyone was just SO kind and made you feel like royalty.
We truly can’t say enough great things about this place. My hope is that anyone reading this ends their wedding venue search here and gives Claire a ring and begins planning their big day with her and Knockranny- you will NOT regret it!

paying for as she was bridesmaid and I heard from a number of people that the reception experience was not good. The second thing was not all the drink we brought in was given out. A number of my uncle's were left without drink including Colm at one stage. Then I found out there was so much drink left over. I think it's a bad policy of the hotel not to give all the drink out as they want people to buy the drinks in the hotel. didn't actually see Knockranny until the day before the wedding, and driving through the gates, I knew we had picked the right place.
Everything was amazing, no detail overlooked. The bridal suite was simply amazing, perfect to get ready in the morning of the wedding.
We had our wedding ceremony at Knockranny House Hotel & Spa and the ceremony room itself was beautiful, very elegant, as was the area where we had the drinks reception after.
Claire, the Wedding Coordinator at Knockranny is an absolute dream. I placed my trust in her completely. Because we were planning from abroad, I wanted someone I could rely on and Claire was certainly that, and more. I left a lot of the details to her and on the day she ensured everything ran smoothly. She is so organized and has thought of every single detail.
Our guests have all commented on the standard of food at our wedding, and I couldn't agree more. The food was outstanding and the service was second to none.
Overall, Knockranny House Hotel & Spa made our wedding day one we will never forget. If you are looking for a fantastic venue, with stunning views, outstanding food and service that is second to none, then look no further.

Claire was so precise and had everything covered up to the small things that we would never have thought of! The hotel itself was pristine, the staff were brilliant, we couldn’t say enough about them, from our tasting night and the wedding night the waiting staff were just brilliant. but I think it was out of this world. I only wish we could have been a guest ourselves it was just fantastic.
The service was 12/10 and the food was also 12/10. People still raving about the food and anyone who stayed can not get over the rooms.
Every single supplier was incredible. I mean I was just so lucky to have the team we had.
I hope the bar was made full use off and plenty money spent as it was well deserved. I heard from guests that the bar service was the best the ever saw, no waiting and no letting people skip the queue.

and the compliments about the food have been never-ending since the meal was served. The rooms are fab and we booked the Penthouse Suite which is well worth the upgrade, There is no better place for a couple to have their wedding in Westport and it is one of the finest venues in the country. Claire manages her team very efficiently, we we're very happy with the quality and delivery of the meal. The feedback from all our guests from the wedding day has been extremely positive and this is down to the hard work and effort to Claire and all the team at Knockranny House Hotel & Spa.

you plan your wedding day. The food was exquisite, guests were offered seconds of everything and I had several guests comment on the fact that the food was the nicest they’ve had at a wedding. Knockranny itself has beautiful grounds for photos and the service from bar staff to wait staff was brilliant. My husband often says he had such a good day he’d do it again however it was such a perfect day I wouldn’t redo anything. I can not recommend Knockranny House Hotel enough, Claire and her team will not disappoint.

everyone we have spoken too has commented on the high quality of the food. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, and Claire was available to us whenever she was needed.
To add to the excellent service, the room we were put up in was the nicest place we have ever stayed, and our bridal party were all put up in excellent style too. We couldn't speak more highly of the value we got in the package we agreed with Claire.
All of our guests had a wonderful time, and we had the best day of our lives. We couldn't say better than that, we were simply delighted we had our wedding at the Knockranny Hotel.

first encounter with Claire via email we were absolutely confident that there would not be one stone left unturned or one detail overlooked in planning our big day. Nothing was too big a problem or a request. We wished to make slight changes to the package on offer and this was facilitated with no difficulty whatsoever. We visited the hotel a number of times leading up to the wedding and the staff that we encountered were so friendly and welcoming. While there were one or two small issues with out menu tasting, these were all resolved and again, we were completely confident that everything would be perfect on the day.
While the hotel hosted a very large wedding the day before ours there was absolutely no problem with our visit to drop off various pieces for our day despite the fact the staff were incredibly busy at the time.
The big day itself surpassed every single expectation that we held. The food was absolutely INCREDIBLE and all of our guests commented. There was absolutely no shortage with many guests enjoying 'seconds'. We partied late into the night and enjoyed every second of the day. Although the hotel is a very popular one for weddings, we were still made to feel like ours was the only one they were planning and hosting. They really made us feel special for our weekend. While Knockranny may be considered a little more expensive than other venues in the locality, you most certainly get what you pay for. It is absolutely first class and I would love nothing more than to do it all over again. Thank you for everylasting memories and we look forward to visiting regularly in the years to come.

We could not fault the service we received throughout our year of planning and especially on the big day (& days after) Our guests still compliment Knockranny and all its staff. ordinator in Knockranny House Hotel she is one of a kind. No task is too big, no problem or worry will go unsolved and no detail will be forgotten with Claire your day couldn't be in safer hands she made us so relaxed and everything ran so smoothly.

arrangements for the day (Claire Concannon is excellent and tireless in her assistance and preparation). The staff had incredible attention to detail and the food was fantastic, however the biggest compliment we could pay, was how many of our guests complimented us on the venue after the event.

Obviously, you hope the day, the evening, everything goes well and all guests enjoy the wedding as a whole, and to get that many of our guests complimenting us on the venue (which is really down to the staff/venue) was really nice and confirmed to us we made the right choice.

Knockranny has a fantastic reputation for excellent food and we were thrilled with all aspects of our wedding meal. All of the staff in Knockranny are lovely to deal with throughout the planning process, on the wedding day itself and welcomed us back when we attended another wedding after our own. We chose to have our post wedding party in the cocktail lounge in Knockranny the night after our wedding which worked out perfectly. It was so easy to arrange and the staff pulled out all the stops to make this night another night to remember. Knockranny is a beautiful hotel and is the perfect place for a wedding reception. wedding coordinator, was so helpful and nice to deal with. We were organizing our wedding from Dubai, so having a coordinator that we could trust was really invaluable to us.
The location of the hotel was ideal. It is just outside of Westport which was nice for guests who wanted to venture in to the town the next day, but was not so close to town that our guests started to leave on the night of the wedding. On the wedding day, we were even able to go out at sunset and get some pictures of Clew Bay given that the hotel is in an ideal location for capturing the view.
I had quite a few props for the wedding. Thankfully, I just had to drop them at the hotel and tell Claire where I wanted them and how I wanted them to look. I was amazed on the day as to how accurately everything was put together; everything looked even better than I could have imagined.
Many of our guests commented that they had a fabulous experience. The food at the wedding was second to none; much more akin to a restaurant quality meal than what is usually provided at a large function such as a wedding. Not only was the food of high quality, but seconds and even thirds were offered. We also appreciated the layout of the hotel, in that, the arrival area for guests is at a private lounge area separate to the other hotel guests allowing for a very intimate and private event.
All in all, we were very pleased with our entire experience at Knockranny and are very much looking forward to returning for our one year anniversary.

We are so grateful for your professionalism, kindness, expertise and efficiency in helping organise our wedding. You made the planning process seem easy and straightforward. I know there was lots on behind the scenes in helping create our ideal day. I cannot commend you highly enough and Knockranney are so lucky to have you as a valued member of staff. We originally viewed another hotel and thought we'd view Knockranney as a comparison though we thought our minds had been made up with the other hotel. Upon meeting you, you won us over and we are so glad we visited Knockranney that day.

Nothing was too much trouble. Every meeting we had with you was conducted so efficiently and your experience in the wedding industry is so apparent. You offered suggestions when we were looking for assistance in locating a supplier for draping, order of speeches, approximate number of prosecco bottles required, ideas regarding desserts, supplied canapes for bridal party upon arrival etc. etc. etc. I could go on! You literally thought of everything! Many people commended us on our organisation on the day but I kept referring to you and your wonderful team!

Mrs Corcoran was so kind to approach us and check in with us on the wedding day! We were so impressed to see her lead her waiting staff by example by assisting in serving our wedding party. It's not too often you see the owner so active and behind every good ship is a wonderful captain..... Thanks to the waiting staff who conducted the service so efficiently. Also, thanks to you all for coming out to the car on our arrival-all those subtle touches make the day extra special. You all really treated us so well and made us feel so valued.

To the chef.......the food was mouth watering! Not one complaint was brought to our attention! Instead, everyone we spoke with highly commended the food, how it was fresh, hot, plentiful and cooked so well. It can make/break a wedding day to have good/bad food and whilst we could rest assured the food would be of high standard in Knockranney, it was a big topic of discussion from our guests for all the right reasons. When people travel from near and far bringing gifts and cards Colin and I really wanted them to be looked after and we couldn't have asked for any more from you and your team.

It is with both fondness and sadness that I say goodbye to you! You've been a very important lady in our lives over the course of the last 13months and it's hard to believe the planning process has ended and gone so well. We will be forever grateful for your friendly smile, professional nature and approachability. We're only sorry we didn't get a quick snap with you on the day. I've said it before but Knockranney are so lucky to have you! We will have no hesitation in recommending you to friends and family who may wish to get married.

not a problem and as a result, our big day was everything we had hoped. All of our guests were so impressed with the food on the day. At our pre dinner reception, the canapes were plentiful and tasty. All the courses were delicious and the waiting staff were on hand to offer more potatoes and more vegetables. Everyone was stuffed by the end! The whole evening ran so smoothly and we did not have to worry about anything. I could not recommend Knockranny highly enough for a wedding. Claire, her team and the management of the hotel were wonderful to work with and we are so thankful to them all.

We have received tremendous compliments and praise from all of our guests in relation to the hotel. To put it simply – our guests loved their overall experience of the Knockranny House Hotel! I know some of our guests are already planning return trips to Westport and the Knockranny House Hotel features heavily in their plans.

Both Ruth and I were extremely happy with how the big day went off. We have no critiques, regrets or disappointments with our wedding reception. We will not be looking back in years to come wondering what if this or that had been done differently. It was perfect. It exceeded our high expectations. It could not have been better. This didn’t happen by accident – Our reception was the success it was because of the attention to detail the management and staff of the hotel delivered on the day. From the second we set foot in your hotel on our wedding day, we could not have asked for more. Both our guests and our wedding party were warmly received by the hotel staff with a genuine welcome. The reception room exuded an atmosphere of luxury and elegance thanks to the finishing touches applied by you and your team. Our meal was quite simply AMAZING. The quality of the food, the beautiful presentation and the efficient level of service were the high point of the day for us. Please extend our sincere appreciation and respect to all those who worked so hard to make our day the success and joy it was for us. We truly enjoyed our day and night of celebrations and for this we are most appreciative.
