On the day the Maryborough really came into their own. We always felt that our wedding was special to all the staff and they seemed to know what we needed before we did. Knowing when we might need a moment to ourselves or even helping to find lost phones, they were always on hand keeping the day going but never pushy and always fun! 

We wouldn't hesitate in recommending the Maryborough to anyone and thanks to everyone, especially Ellis, for making our day such a lovely day for us and all our guests. I'm not sure this review does do the Maryborough justice, but thank you for everything, Claire & Rob

met Ellis, our wedding coordinator, to the day of the event itself - that nothing was ever too much trouble or an inconvenience. Ellis and her team were able to take exactly what we were looking for from our day and transform it into reality. We could not have been happier with how it all went. The whole team went beyond our expectations at every opportunity.

In addition to Ellis and Donagh and the wedding team, who did an exceptional job throughout we would also say a big thank you to the banqueting team, the reception staff, the security man at the end of the evening, and the management team. The feedback from our guests has been overwhelmingly positive and we will be happily singing The Maryborough's praises for many years to come. We just wish we could do it all over again!

we chose the Maryborough for our wedding. The Orangery was perfect for the ceremony, the gardens were ideal for our wedding photos and the food was a massive hit with the guests. We had the perfect day and it was thanks to the staff at the Maryborough. Their attention to detail, friendliness and hard work was incredible.

The Orangery room which is glass opens out onto the most tranquil setting. Be sure to look this up on their website. wedding she was dealing with, meanwhile she was obviously involved in several weddings but we never felt like we were just another number. On the day of the wedding, staff could not do enough for us. We felt we were in good hands and as a bride, I felt like I was really being cared for. Ellis and Anna both made sure on the day we were relaxed as much as we possibly could and they both ensured the smooth running of our day. Everyone complimented the food on the day.
I had various bits & pieces I wanted put up around the hotel and everything I asked was done.
In all our dealings with the Maryborough since the initial enquiries right up to the day after the wedding, we could not have been happier with our choice. Staff went above and beyond and we were really made feel very special.
The staff are genuinely nice people and helped to make our day as special as it was.

We married in the orangery and it was spectacular, the setting took my breath away as I walked down the aisle it was truly beautiful.
The food on the day was also incredible, so much so that guests are still talking about how great it was.

Nothing ever seemed like too much trouble for them and they were always an absolute pleasure to deal with. airport or other counties), the building itself (gorgeous traditional house with modern twist), the gardens (we didn't leave our guests for too long to get stunning photographs), the rooms (the orangery is truly magnificent for drinks or for the ceremony itself) and the function room (beautiful space with wonderful lighting). Since booking the Maryborough, our interaction with all staff has been truly incredible. Ellis and Mary were excellent in preparing everything for our wedding day, despite all of the barriers the pandemic was presenting to us. They thought of everything and made us feel truly at ease. Ana was fantastic on the day and did everything she could to ensure that we and our guests enjoyed the day. Moreover, all of the staff at reception, the bars, the restaurant, went above and beyond for us. Loads of our guests commented on the delicious meal and canapes served throughout the day too. We cannot wait to revisit the hotel. It will always be so special to us.

Ellis was there to guide and help us the whole way through. She really is a pleasure to deal with. The whole experience was made a lot less stressful when you have someone like Ellis to help.

We held the ceremony in the Orangery and the dinner in the ballroom. The food and service was exceptional. All of our guests were so impressed from start to finish.

was a little winter wonderland in the middle of the city.

The staff are nothing short of exceptional. They are relaxed, polite, welcoming and always have a minute for a chat and a bit of craic. The food was fantastic, and nothing was too much for them!
The wedding planner Ellis is outstanding at her job, as are all the staff. We got married during the Covid 19 pandemic. Ellis and the rest of the staff did their utmost to ensure that everything was as normal as possible for us. During such an uncertain time, Maryborough remained calm and supportive, which is only what I would expect from them.

unique venue. The team at Maryborough Hotel made planning our wedding so easy. Ellis really listens to what ideas we had, and has so much experience in planning the perfect day. Her lovely, calm and friendly manner made us feel so relaxed throughout the planning, even during all the COVID-19 uncertainty.
The menu tasting in advance was fantastic fun, and made us so excited for the big day. On our wedding day itself, the food was just incredible. Our guests are still talking about the it. The room looked so beautiful, and was exactly the intimate setting we had hoped for. All of the Maryborough team were so welcoming to us and our guests. John’s lovely welcome as we entered the hotel reception made for some great photos!
The bridal suite is gorgeous, and so spacious! All of our guests loved their rooms and were very comfortable. The staircase to the suite also makes for some beautiful wedding photos, and the Christmas decorations throughout the hotel really added to our photos. We honestly couldn’t recommend Maryborough Hotel enough to any wedding couple. It’s a beautiful historic venue, with a very special team.

the staff. The ethos of the hotel is to make your day as stress free and enjoyable as possible, and the staff followed this throughout. We got married when there was a lot of uncertainty about what was allowable because of COVID. In such a circumstance, with many moving targets, you need somebody to guide you and give you confidence that everything will be alright. Ellis, our wedding planner, is such a person. Her calmness and serenity are personified. She is truly born to do the job! She catered for our every need without any fuss, and she often sorted out things for us without us even knowing. For those reasons, we can’t thank her enough. This attention to customer service was prevalent throughout. Brian, Anna, Kieran, the list is endless. In truth, everybody from senior management to reception, the bar staff and housekeeping did something above and beyond what we expected. Our sincerest thanks for making our day so special.

can't do enough for you and are so adaptable and supportive through any changes that need to be made. There were a lot of changes that needed to be made due to the pandemic. We never needed to contact the Maryborough, they were always guiding us and supporting us through anything that needed to be done. All our guests were so impressed with the venue, gardens and above all the food and staff. So many people noted that it was the best wedding meal they had ever had. Also it was lovely that so many of our guests were able to stay in the hotel and were offered a very reasonable wedding room rate. Carmel in reservations did an amazing job of keeping on top of all the room bookings and any changes that were made. The bridal suite was absolutely divine, and we had a lovely time celebrating up there with our bridal party. We had so many lovely options for wedding photos both indoors and outdoors, which meant we didn't need to go to a different location and really got to maximize the length of time we could enjoy at our amazing wedding reception in the beautiful orangery. It's hard to know what else to add other than if you are thinking of choosing the Maryborough for your wedding then you will be making a great choice and will be in excellent hands!

had our ceremony in the hotel and the orangery is just the perfect setting for those that don't want to do a church wedding. We also had reception there and they turned the room over so quick, it was ready just as we finished greeting guests after ceremony. We had the meal in banquet room which had fabulous table settings and lighting. Everything was perfect. The food was the star of the show. My husband and I are both foodies and didn't want the run of the mill wedding food. It was just delicious and everyone loved it. One of our guests, who is a chef and runs a very successful restaurant in Waterford, could not get over the quality of the food and spent the whole night complimenting it. We will be forever grateful to Ellis and the team for making our day absolutely perfect. We would just love to do it all over again

Every request and query were answered promptly; and we always felt like a priority (despite having an extremely small wedding due to Covid 19 restrictions). It never felt like an inconvenience to make additional requests, such as accommodating dietary requirements.

The venue looked incredible on the day. The manicured gardens provided the perfect backdrop to our ceremony and photographs. The Maryborough provided numerous extra touches to ensure the venue looked wonderful, such as additional flowers and beautiful drinks table.

All of the staff made us feel like their main priority and added to the sense of occasion on the day. Ana our waitress was highly skilled and attentive throughout.

We were both so happy we went with the Maryborough and we can't recommend them enough.

perfect, and Ellis did everything and more than we asked. It was a small ceremony due to covid, but we are so glad that we went ahead as we were made feel really special as a result!

The food was absolutely exceptional, as were all the staff there on the day. It was an oasis for all of us in the middle of the pandemic, and we couldn't be happier.

There is not a single complaint or thing we can think of. In fact, it was perfect in every way - even the weather held out!

We cannot recommend Maryborough enough. It really was a 10/10.

Finally thanks to Ellis for all of the help and support planning our wedding, especially when we had to change the date three times! We are so glad we chose the Maryborough as our venue to celebrate our big day.

was only amazing. The service was top quality! The whole 25 guests are still talking about the food, the room and the service. We really want to give our thanks to Ellis, Anna, Tom and there was one other bar man on that night (cannot remember his name) They couldn't do more for us on the night, they kept making sure we were happy with everything, and the night went so smoothly! Felt so loved and welcomed by everyone, staff included, night staff even!

My mam couldn't get over that the staff knew our parents by their names, she said it was so personal! Amazing!

guests for the drinks reception, as it's so beautiful. The food was delicious and we got lots of positive comments on it. The grounds are lovely - we got our photos taken in the garden.
One of the things we would have changed/improved on was making sure prosecco we had brought in ourselves (to top up the one glass per guest in the package) was actually given out to guests. people's glasses were empty when we arrived at approx. 4pm and we presumed it was all gone - we only realised the next day that only half of it was used, which was very disappointing.
Overall, we would absolutely recommend the Maryborough to a friend. it's such a beautiful setting and beautiful hotel.

The orangery wowed us from day one and we Knew we would have to Have our ceremony there. From the reception to the grounds, the hotel is outstanDingly gorgeous With So many photo ops everywhere!
The staff were amazing throughout the day, making sure we were both ok and if we needed anything, it maDe us feEl so special.
The food was to die for, i will never forget those deserts...yum! Everyone still complimentS the food and said they really enjoyed every bit of the food.

ENSURED ALL BASES WERE COVERED AND FLAGGED ASPECTS THAT i WOULD HAVE OTHERWISE FORGOTTEN ABOUT. tHE DAY ITSELF WAS INCREDIBLE. THE TEAM WERE BRILLIANT AND SO ATTENTIVE TO OUR GUESTS. EVERYONE RAVED ABOUT THE FOOD, THE VENUE, THE ROOMS, EVERYTHING REALLY. We ended the night in the residents bar where the hospitality continued into the night. My father-in-law, over a year later, still tells us that this was his favourite wedding (to the annoyance of his other 2 married children!)

Everything ran really smoothly on the day. We really appreciated Mia bringing us to another room for a small break before the dinner for some time to relax. All of the staff at Maryborough checked on us regularly which was lovely.

The food was incredible, and the Christmas atmosphere really made it for us.

We look forward to coming back every time we are home in Cork.

accommodating, responded to our queries promptly and nothing was too much to ask. Mia, Front of House Manager made us all feel so welcome and special, she went over and above with little treats and thoughtful additions to the rooms. The bridal suite is INCREDIBLE! My bridesmaids and I got ready there and photographs are out of this world. The Orangery makes for the most beautiful drinks reception or ceremony venue. Last but not least the food was divine, our guests are still commenting on the standard of their meal. If you're looking an elegant, homely venue, great food and a personal experience with people you can trust, look no further. I only wish I could it all again!

Ellis our Wedding co-ordinator was amazing and so easy to deal with. Her swift reply to all our emails, her friendly and professional attitude made planning our wedding at the Maryborough so stress free.

The venue itself is just incredible, the Orangery is a beautiful setting for the reception drinks and the hotel has beautiful picture opportunities both outside and inside. All the staff were so helpful on our Wedding day and couldn't do enough for us. The food was incredible, the service was amazing and all our guests were so impressed with the venue and we got so many compliments from our guests on all aspects of the day but all the staff at the Maryborough played a huge role in that.

Just want to say the biggest thank you to all the team at the Maryborough for everything ye did on our special day, it meant alot and we look forward to visiting again soon.

I was delighted with our wedding in the Maryborough, the timings were perfect, the rooms were beautiful and the food was great. that it was an easy decision for us to get married in the Orangery. There were several reasons that helped us make this decision, including how beautiful the Orangery is and Ellis, the wedding coordinator she was so competent, knowledgeable, approachable and easy to work with from the second we spoke to her. All of this together made the planning of the wedding so enjoyable and stress free. We loved staying at the Maryborough with our friends and family on the run up to our wedding day and got to enjoy some pre-wedding drinks with our guests in Bellini’s bar and restaurant. All I can say about the wedding day was WOW! Ellis and all the staff went above and beyond and are so genuine and courteous and it was so lovely knowing that they would do absolutely anything to make our guests enjoy the day. The setting for the wedding was beautiful we were truly blown away by everything and luckily the weather was spectacular that we got to enjoy our drinks reception out in the garden. The orangery was set up for our reception and words cannot describe how beautiful it was. We made the best decision of our lives to get married in the Maryborough and we could not thank Ellis and all the staff for truly making our dream wedding come through, it was a real-life fairy tale. The hotel is fab venue, it is hard to beat in Cork in my opinion! Drinks reception in the orangery which is like no other drinks reception room in Cork with open doors onto the gardens if weather is good, is truly an idyllic surrounding! Meal was divine and all well paced and timed and everyone really enjoyed it! All the staff couldn't do enough for everyone and really made the day special for everybody!
Overall day was brilliant as a result of an amazing venue like Maryborough Hotel & it really made our wedding day having such a beautiful venue with good food, good staff & good service. Brilliant Wedding venue! :)

Monday, every staff member across every department of the hotel was so welcoming, accommodating and thoughtful to make our stay the best we could have imagined. They all worked so hard and nothing was too much bother. We also know that whilst we met a lot of the staff, there were other staff members in the background who we didn’t meet but who did a superb job. All staff are a real credit to themselves and the hotel.

Two areas we did receive many compliments, was the food and service, both of which were superb throughout the weekend. Please send on our thanks to the chef, the catering manager on the night of our wedding and all the kitchen and waiting staff. Having said this, we also got lots of other compliments on other areas of the hotel, from how well the rooms were cleaned and made up to how friendly the leisure facility staff were.

The aim of our day was for everyone to relax, having a great time and celebrate our marriage and we definitely achieved this. Many of our family and friends from the UK are hoping to return to Cork, and stay at the Maryborough hotel next year.

matter how many times I contacted her.
From stepping in through the front door the staff couldn’t do enough for me, it really made me feel very special and like a vip on our wedding day. During the day the manager in charge of that part of the day would come up and introduce themselves and ask that I come to them if I needed anything at all. I had so many of my guests comment on how gorgeous the hotel was and remark on the level of service. 3 weeks after my wedding I’m still getting messages from people about the food they had for the wedding, it was sublime.
I think so say I wouldn’t change a thing speaks volumes and I think any hotel would be hard pushed to try and top The Maryborough. One more aspect I’d like to mention is the service I received in the lead up to the wedding itself along with the actual day, if I was popping in to check something. No matter what staff I met from reception, porters or managers I always left feeling like such a valued customer! I’m going to feel very hard done by going to other hotels after experiencing the level of service that The Maryborough commit to!

gardens, the gorgeous ballroom, everything was just perfect. As we live in France we took a leap of faith and booked the date without actually officially meeting with any of the hotel staff. However, from the very beginning Ellis was professional, friendly and competent. We knew we were in great hands. When we finally did visit the hotel for our menu tasting we were completely reassured that we had made the right choice. Everything was perfect, the staff were lovely and they were always willing to accommodate our requests. As my husband is French it meant a lot of our guests were flying over from France. There was absolutely no problem for the hotel when we asked if we could translate the menu for them. Our guests were very impressed by the organisation on the day of our wedding and all commented on the fact that everything went off without a hitch. Those who stayed overnight particularly loved the breakfast the next day. Our bridal suite was just divine and our only regret is that we can't do it all over again! Thank you, thank you, thank you to Ellis, Carmel and Orla for your energy and patience over the last few months and for always replying to our endless emails! They must have at least 2 weddings every weekend, but we always felt like we were the only couple getting married! Thank you also to all the other staff, whose names I don't recall. From the reception to the restaurant, you're all super!!

once we met the team and seen the Maryborough we knew it was the perfect place, we booked it the next day! Leading up to the wedding was just so easy, Ellis our coordinator was just so efficient and knowledgeable and we both felt so at ease as we knew everything was taken care of. From the menu tasting to the final meetings everything was a breeze and Ellis was always on hand to answer a call or an email. The day itself couldn’t have gone better, the hotel looked magical with the Christmas decorations and we took fantastic photos outside and inside the hotel, the photographer had so much to work with as we decided to do all our photos there after the church. Ellis, Justin the general manager and all the management team were there to greet us whilst all the guests were being looked after in the beautiful orangery which is just a breathtaking reception area. Our package included canopies of all types, a gin and tonic station and Prosecco so our guests were all catered for and had a great time in the orangery. Everything went so smoothly and we really just were able to relax and enjoy our day. The Sherrard suite looked amazing and the food was fantastic, the feedback we got from all our guests was brilliant. I had hotel owners, head chefs etc at the wedding and they all were just blown away with the quality of the food and service. Shiby and his team were so efficient and professional for the meal but above all the friendliness of the staff was a stand out point, they couldn’t do enough for us and our guests. Eamonn the waiter on the top table was excellent and all the family commented on how good he was and how interactive he was with both our families. Of course the punctuality of the day and night was important to us as we didn’t want to lose any time on our band etc but Ellis and Shiby had this all under control. We didn’t even think about it, it just all went so smoothly. We had such a great night dancing and the late food again was spot on, so tasty and so well presented. It was the best night of our lives and I wish we could do it all again! We stayed the next night in the bridal suite again, they have two bridal suites and both are phenomenal rooms, it was just pure luxury and we felt like royalty in the suite. Thanks so much to everyone in the hotel who made this such a special day for us, from the minute we booked the hotel over two years ago to the day itself it was just everything we ever dreamed of. We recently got our wedding video and the hotel looked spectacular, we certainly made the right choice and we had such a great day. A special thanks again to Ellis who just made it all happen. From the staff at the hotel reception to the bar staff in the residents bar, they all played a part in making this such a wonderful day and are a credit to the hotel. the beauty of the Orangery, the woods, the reception suite, the bridal suite, and overall the entire hotel and grounds.

We dealt with Mary and Ellis who were so professional and experienced that we always felt at ease regarding how the day would go. We really enjoyed the wedding planning and never had many worries, which I believe was down to the fact The Maryborough team did a lot of the heavy lifting for us. Their attention detail always reassured us that we made the right choice when booking our wedding venue.

I stayed in The Bridal suite the night before the wedding and I had so much fun with my family and bridal party while getting ready the morning of the wedding. The room is so spacious and the photographer and videographer were able to catch some stunning shots of the morning.

Ellis, was waiting for us when we come down to the main reception to leave and even had a backup umbrella just in case. When we arrived back from the church, the team were waiting once again and were constantly asking us if we needed a drink, food, etc which I think is important as the couple is busy meeting everyone during the drinks reception. Our guests absolutely loved our drinks reception in The Orangery, the décor, food, and drink were so elegant.

The evening reception was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. Every course was on time, the food is was fantastic, and the whole evening ran off perfectly.

So many of our guests commented on the service during the wedding and their stay. Many of us stayed an extra couple of nights and the Maryborough team were so nice and accommodating.

The bridal suite is beautiful & absolutely enormous, we liked it so much we stayed 2 nights.
Our guests complimented the beautiful accommodation, delicious food & relaxed atmosphere on the day. We were blessed with beautiful weather on the day so made the most of the Orangery & gardens.

wedding. After viewing the Orangery, we both absolutely fell in love with the room and knew that we had to have our civil wedding there. It felt special.

After we booked the venue, I continued to organize the wedding from abroad with Ellis, and was confident that the wedding would be perfect, as Ellis maintained frequent contact and helped us with every detail on the run up to the big day, from recommendations to patiently and pleasantly answering every last query. It was easy.

The day was absolutely magnificent.

In the morning, the four bridesmaids, the flower girl, our hairdresser and beautician, photographer and videographer, gathered in the Bridal suite. I decided that we would use this space to get ready after seeing the stately photographs of the bridal suite online. It is so impressive, with a large luxurious lounge area set up for afternoon tea, replete with sumptuous couches and armchairs, wide welcoming fireplace and expansive draped windows that drop from ceiling to floor. Perfect for capturing those special moments of nervous beautification for the big day, in magical light.

Our guests were enchanted by the Orangery, where we had the talented Cork-based Scarlet String Quartet play.

The day flowed freely and effortlessly. As Seamie and I, disappeared into the deep hydrangea filled garden for purple floral framed photographs, staff seamlessly transformed the Orangery into a reception area, where mini burgers and miniature delicacies were served. Laughter rippled from around the outdoor seated area. Everyone seemed so happy.

The day was choreographed to the second. Staff appeared and disappeared, graciously attending to each guest, like royalty.

guided us gently through the planning process. They were always on the end of the phone or email to answer a query and make your requests a reality. We left the styling of the reception rooms up to the hotel and it was so beautiful, the hotel really has the wow factor without any need to add more. This was such a help at a time that is so busy. The grounds of the hotel are stunning with a mature garden which made for the most stunning backdrop in our photographs. The original Maryborough house has an iconic staircase which is a photographers dream also. The fact that the hotel offers these locations for photos meant we went straight there from the church and didn't miss our own reception like so many do. We had the most amazing wedding day, the food was gorgeous and the wine free flowed. Our guests all commented on the great service and fabulous meal. Ellis was never too far away on the day ensuring that we were looked after with drinks and food and were on track for time. No request was too much- she even provided a sick bucket for our toddler girl who ate too much from the sweet trolley!!! The bridal suite is beautiful and peaceful in the original part of the house and a perfect start to married life. . The Maryborough house hotel has it all for a wedding venue-expert staff, value for money and spectacular surroundings! Without any hesitation I would recommend the Maryborough house hotel to anyone planning a wedding. I never thought I'd say it but I wish I could do it all over again!!!

with the Maryborough was that they took care of everything when it came to the reception, Richard and I literally just had to show up. At our tasting the restaurant manager Shibby went through our personalised menus with us on arrival. We had plenty of food and Shibby was incredibly attentive. The General Manager, Justin also checked in with us. We felt incredibly welcome. Ellis rang me the day after the tasting and we went through each course. And even though we were delighted with the food, Ellis let us know that at any stage if we changed our mind and wanted to pop in to taste a different starter/dessert etc that would be fine. Ellis spent a few hours with us going through final details a few weeks before the wedding and was so patient when it came to making any changes etc. I also dropped up flip flops/post box the day before the wedding and Ellis met me in the car park and helped me bring in the items (even though she was dealing with another wedding that day!)
I cant say enough about the day, it was magical. The welcome we got from all the staff when we arrived was amazing. Our guests are still talking about the service from the staff, the waiting and bar staff were so attentive. Richard and I felt like royalty on the day, Ellis, Shibby and Justin looking after our every need. Even though it was lashing rain outside it didn't matter as the Orangery was so spectacular. The staff went over and above helping the photographer find places for photos. The food surpassed all our expectations, it was amazing. I cannot say enough about the hotel. I'm so glad we chose the Maryborough. Massive thanks to all of you.

incredible at making the process simple and laid back. Ellis made us feel at ease and we knew that we were in safe hands.
We had our wedding ceremony in the Orangery and it was the perfect location. It is such a beautiful room that feels so special for a ceremony. We also had our speeches in the Orangery and it worked so well.
The day of our wedding was a scorcher and our drinks reception was held outside on the lawn. Our guests all raved about the canapes, not only the quality but that there was plenty for everyone. The food at dinner was fantastic and our guests all commented on how much they loved it.
The grounds are fabulous for photos and everything about the hotel is perfect for a wedding.
The honeymoon suite was out of this world and everything you would expect in such a beautiful hotel steeped in history.
Ellis our wedding coordinator was amazing and a great help to us, nothing was ever an issue. Orla who looked after us on the day was so calm and warm and we could not have been in better hands. All the staff were so welcoming, helpful and professional. A special thank you to Brian one of the managers who looked after us on this day, he was just great.

extremely responsive and just so experienced in what they do, we always felt so reassured and they advised us lots on what had worked really well in the hotel etc before and completely put us on the right path in the planning for our day.

My mum had passed away unexpectedly prior to my wedding and this was treated so sensitively and the girls were so caring on this front. It was so difficult to plan a wedding during this difficult time but the girls and the hotel relieved me of SO much anxiety. They literally owned it and I felt so reassured that we would have a wonderful memorable day.

The weeks before the wedding, tensions rise and the girls met with me on two occasions face to face to literally run through the day start to finish. On the day Orla was there on our arrival and literally there all day checking in. SHE WAS AMAZING and ensured everything went to plan. The day was emotional at times for me and Orla was just incredible and I will be forever grateful.

The hotel was spectacular, the orangery was devine for the drinks reception and the food/service was to an amazing standard. All our guests were commenting how amazing the dinner was etc. I could not recommend the Maryborough more highly and the staff are just phenomenal. Thank you so much to all the Maryborough!

Ellis was our wedding planner and she was always very pleasant and very efficient to deal with.

We met on a few occasions with Jemma the head chef. She was so enthusiastic and eager to work with us and helped to create a menu with a difference. Derek and I are foodies and really enjoyed our food tasting outings so much. Friday afternoons for lunch became a regular event, where we got to know the staff personally and each and every one of them played a part in making our wedding experience so very special.

I had afternoon tea with my bridal party the day I picked out my wedding dress( another excuse to celebrate!) and the day I collected my wedding dress we had another Fantastic day out with lunch and bubbly.

We were always greeted with the warmest of welcomes and made to feel very special. Having the gym facilities was another great bonus for preparing for our big day. Our daughter loved her weekend swims!

I could not recommend highly enough the Maryborough house. So professional, amazing location, the Orangery is such a romantic setting for a wedding, the grounds are perfect for photographs, the gardens are beautiful, where we had our gin bar set up as well as our cava and beer reception.

The bridal suites are amazing, a lot of our guests stayed for the weekend and were so happy with all the facilities. Feedback from our guests at our wedding was overwhelming and the food was sublime.

We would like to thank Justin, Ellis, Jemma, Carmel, Brian, Adrian, Shiby, Siva, (hope we have not let anyone out) it was most certainly the perfect wedding day. Thank you so much to Justin.

The wedding day itself ran very smoothly and that's all thanks to Ellis. Our guests spoke very highly of the venue after the day, the food was excellent and the main function room is ideal with plenty of space and no need to move tables to accommodate the band. The one thing that makes the Maryborough so special is the Orangery where the drink reception is held and this room was the main selling point for us when we viewed the hotel and our guests were amazed with this room on the day.
Another plus with the Maryborough is the location that the hotel is situated, we were able to use the beautiful grounds and the hotel itself for our wedding photos.

to the hotel on the day they just took over and everything ran so smoothly (if all too quickly!!!)
All our personal touches were evident to see and nothing we asked was too much hassle. From pictures to signs to sweet carts they did it all and exactly as how we had asked.
The drunk reception was stunning and something many of our guests complimented. The meal was devine and promptly served. They even went so far as to surprise me with battered sausages as a joke during the speeches!!Bonus points there!!!

I really can not recommend the Maryborough enough for any newly engaged couples. They are experts in their craft and their attention to detail is flawless. I only wish we could go back and do it all again!!

as special as it was. We built up a great relationship with Ellis and the hotel staff prior to our day and this added to our experience.They were extremely accommodating with our requests (no matter how big or small) and made us feel at ease from the get go.

The food was beyond perfection (not just the main meal-the food at our drinks reception and later in the night were equally as exquisite)

We highly recommend this hotel as it was a real comfort for us knowing and trusting that Ellis and her staff were top class at what they do.

We had total confidence in Martina the whole way through the process and we feel she went above and beyond to make our day perfect. We were extremely lucky to have her as our wedding planner.

Since the wedding many guest have said to myself and Chris that throughout their stay in Maryborough they felt they received 5 star treatment from all members of staff. Maryborough is such a beautiful venue ( especially when the sun is shining!) but it is the staff that make it such a great place to be.

and this was greatly appreciated as we were organising our wedding while Emin and I were in Azerbaijan. She was there for us when we were trying to bring together the elements that helped personalise our wedding, which made it even more special e.g. the projector so we could show Irish and Azerbaijani music and film clips during the wedding meal, a long table for an Azerbaijani display and staging of traditional caucasian dances in the wedding hall. If we had a question, she was able to speak to us on Skype and would reply promptly to emails and calls. Because of her, we were able to successfully stage our wedding in the space of 5 months. Martina's most special qualities are her sincerity to help, listen and put people at their ease. She became a good friend.

On the day, we were expertly looked after by Nicole. She was able to notify us if something needed to be done and from the guest reactions they all thoroughly enjoyed the Orangery, gardens and the meal in the hall. It was truly a pleasure to have had our reception at the Maryborough and it is a place that we continue to go back to as they do not just simply treat you as a customer, but as a friend.

All emails were answered quickly if we had any questions and we were always greeted with a smile when we met. Martina is extremely professional and efficient but with warmth and friendliness and she instantly gives you confidence in her ability.
On the day, we got to know the amazing Nicole. She made sure everything ran smoothly and looked after us so well throughout the day. Nicole doesn't just manage the day she goes way beyond making sure the couple are treated like royalty. In the evening Dave the night manager was great and again nothing asked of them was too much trouble.

I would highly recommend the hotel and gardens for photos. We now have a beautiful wedding album. Our ceremony was just stunning in the orangery and the reception room was so beautiful.

All our guests were highly impressed with the food throughout the day and evening. The quality was second to none.

Overall a 10/10!!!

future couples getting married in the hotel. The Maryborough is the perfect backdrop for a wedding with the amazing gardens and The Orangery which made for fantastic photographs. We had our ceremony in The Orangery and it was such a romantic room to say our vows surrounded by our family and friends. The staff were on hand throughout the entire day to ensure that not only us but also our guests had an enjoyable experience. The food was exceptional and our wedding guests are still saying it was one of the best weddings they've ever been to and this is down to the hotel staff; the food/wine; the band and of course Martina. We loved our wedding day so much that we would do it all over again and this is mainly down to the hotel and staff being so great. We would recommend The Maryborough Hotel & Spa to any wedding couples still looking for the perfect venue and to those who have booked their wedding day in the hotel, you're in for an amazing day.

The venue speaks for itself but every member of staff at every level went the extra mile. Even members of the bar staff remembered us from a lunch visit a few days prior to the wedding and made a point of saying hello to us on the day itself also. It was those personal touches that really made it all the more special.
I can honestly say that the venue was the one element of the wedding that didn't cause a single element of stress as I knew that everything would be done well and with the same level of care and attention that I would put into it myself. I can't recommend Maryborough Hotel and Spa enough!

The hotel's not-so-secret weapon, wedding co-ordinator Niamh, is like the bride's fairy godmother. Niamh is clearly passionate about her job and the couples she works with, but most importantly, about the hotel itself. As we live abroad, we organised the wedding primarily via email and Niamh replied to each and every one, making our job a whole lot easier. She truly was a dream to work with. We both felt 100 per cent comfortable with handing her the reins, I only wish I could afford to hire her to organise the rest of my life!

Everything on the Big Day itself was perfect. I remember getting a sneak peek at the Sherrard Suite before the guests arrived for dinner and was just stunned at how beautiful everything looked. I was delighted to see the care and attention the staff had put into arranging the little touches we had dreamt up for the room. The food was excellent and we are still receiving compliments about the staff and the amazing 'Irish hospitality' as a lot of our guests were from England and Australia.

The entire wedding weekend at The Maryborough was a success story from start to finish. It exceeded our expectations and the hard work behind the scenes from all the staff involved ensured my husband and I had the most wonderful weekend spent with family and friends.

This hotel will now always have a special place in our hearts, and I cannot recommend it enough to any couple hoping to make their dream wedding come true.

On the wedding day itself Dominic was the manager in charge and all we can say is what an absolute gentleman he is. He looked after us, our family and guests so well and ensured the day ran smoothly from start to finish. He really was fantastic and was never more than a few steps away. His manner and professionalism on the day is still being talked about by the guests and again words can't say how thankful we are.

The Chef made an absolute spectacular job with the food, everything was presented so well and the flavour was outstanding...everyone said they loved the meal and the evening buffet was also unbelievable!! We really had such a great day.

The new orangery for the drinks reception was so different and had an amazing atmosphere looking onto the beautiful gardens...another area that all the guests were very impressed with.

The whole day surpassed all our expectations and every one of the staff were so friendly and helpful. We can't recommend the Maryborough Hotel highly enough, there genuinely wasn't any area that we could fault - thank you all so much.

amazing time and we are still getting compliments on how smooth and relaxed everything went.
All our guests were amazed with the standard of the food and the level of service provided by each and every one of your staff throughout out the hotel,
From the girls on reception to the waiters and waitresses in the restaurant. We had a few fussy eaters and even they said they cleared the plate of food as it was so good.
There were one or two little stories told to us by our guests that really impressed us, one of our guests asked would it be possible to get a green tea instead of a normal one after the dinner
The waitress who was serving the table duly obliged to the surprise of our guest as there has been times when other hotels have not being as obliging.
On the night of the wedding I asked the security guard down by the smoking area downstairs would we be able to have a few chairs to sit on outside as myself and a few of the lads intend on having cigars and would like to sit down, this was not a problem to him and off he went and got us six chairs, no hassle, no fuss ,no bother
These may same like little things but to myself and Helen they meant a lot and were part of making our day.


A few individuals that stood out for us over the time we dealt with the hotel.....

Elaine, our wedding coordinator, lovely woman and a joy to deal with anytime we met or talked with Elaine she allowed us to bounce ideas around on what we wanted to do and then would give her opinion on whether it would work or not and if she felt it might not always came up with a little solution to the problem. She was always available to us so I would make sure to keep her as she is one of the good ones.

Dominic, a pure gent and a pleasure to have had him involved in our wedding. He approached me on the morning of the wedding and told me to make sure myself and Helen enjoyed the day and that he would always be within 20ft of us for the day making sure everything went the way it was meant to and through to his word he was, during my speech I had a prop put aside and when I turned around to use it at first I couldn’t see where it was but then out of nowhere Dominic appeared with the prop and handed it to me, Little things like this made the day feel that little bit more special.

We first met the two lads when we did our tasting in June and when we left myself and Helen both hoped the two lads would be working the weekend of our wedding and sure enough they were,
They both remembered myself and Helen straight away and we all caught up chatting just like we had at our tasting. The lads are a credit to your hotel with their chat and banter that they had with ourselves and indeed all our guests.
A group of our friends would particularly like to thank the lads for the sandwiches they sent out to them on the afternoon after the wedding as they were having a few cures and the sandwiches helped them through till the evening.
My guests would also like to compliment the lads on their cocktail making skills, keep it up lads!

Martin, our bar man out in the marquee also a gent, hope all is well with him and his wife’s new arrival.

Jenny on reception, absolute pleasure, nothing was ever a problem for her to deal with and always had a smile on her face. Also the young porter who had to slave bring up the bits and pieces up to the honeymoon suite, fair play cause there was a lot and even after going up the stairs a fair few times still made sure that everything was where it should have been and always with a smile.


Marie in reservations was so helpful in the build-up to the wedding, any updates on guests booking the rooms that I need were always sent to me straight away and unfortunately we never got to thank her while we were there

To some up the email, you have a unique and wonderful team in the Maryborough hotel and we cannot thank you enough for the way everyone at the wedding was treated,
Our day couldn’t have been so good without the help of all your staff,

they were keeping everything flowing quietly in the background. The marquee is a fantastic addition to the Maryborough, its a relaxing start to the evening proceedings and ensures all the wedding party stays together before dinner. In relation to the food it was of an extremely high standard, a guest of ours commented that they felt like they were out for dinner in a good restaurant rather than at a wedding where sometimes the food can just be slapped up to you, from the arrival canapes to the night time finger food everything was of good quality and most impotantly tasted good. From our point of view we were well looked after in the run up to the wedding, on the day and also the following days. The Maryborough is truly an exceptional venue for a wedding and offers fantastic value. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone considering a wedding or any other special event. Michelle

met sinead ,Maryborough's wedding co-ordinator. It meant so much to feel so unique and in a way felt like we were the only couple to have ever got married there. Many hotels didn't give me the reassurance like maryborough hotel did. All our guests travelled from as far as hong kong, we even had a celebrity chef at our day and the feedback from the venue ,the staff and the food was out of this world from everyone. our wedding planner. She was so friendly, perfectly organised and efficient and great fun to deal with. We always felt like we had as much time to talk about things as we needed (there was never an occasion where we felt rushed) and if I ever had little queries I called or e-mailed Sinéad and always received a prompt and helpful response. I really can't say enough about Sinéad, she is quite simply excellent at her job! We found their all inclusive packages really great. It made everything so easy for us, we still had choices but we didn't have to worry about forgetting anything. Also it meant that we knew from the outset what the wedding was going to cost and there were no hidden extras. The grounds in the Maryborough are beautiful and it was so lovely to arrive and find all our guests sitting together in the garden, enjoying the drinks reception. The bridal suite is amazing...I think we'd quite happily live there! The meal was delicious and all the guests were commenting on it. I thought the evening buffet was so elegant and the food was really great. We also need to say a special word of thanks to Seán, who looked after us on the evening of the wedding. Here is another person who is fantastic at their job! Our every need was taken care of and he was so helpful and friendly. He went above and beyond (even helping us to organise a small family get together the following day). So overall, the staff in the Maryborough were all so nice and helpful. professional; nothing was too much trouble and it was clear that Sinead was eager to make sure it was the perfect day for us. From their excellent reputation I had high expectations of the hotel anyway, but in all honestly they well and truly exceeded my expectations on the day. The grounds were absolutely gorgeous, as was the hotel itself. A talking point among the guests was the dome in the gardens where the drinks reception was held; it was so impressive. We got some fabulous photos both within the hotel and in the grounds and it really is the perfect setting. A big thank you to all the staff there on the day for looking after us and our guests so well. The room looked amazing and was set up perfectly. I have to say also that the food was outstanding; you really could not get better. So to sum it up, if you are looking for somewhere perfect for your big day I would highly recommend the Maryborough Hotel; it really is an amazing venue

it was the hotel for us. The run up to the wedding and the day itself went so smoothly and was so enjoyable that I just don't know how to thank Elaine and all the staff at the Maryborough enough. We actually got Married in the Hotel itself by way of civil ceremony and then had our reception there afterwards. They made the day so special for us, the decor and ambience was second to none, the food was out of this world and even now 6 months on guests are still talking about the day. The hotel and it's grounds are so wonderful for photographs even in the winter. In summary I really can't recommend this venue enough to any couple who wants the perfect wedding day. Margaret

the smallest detail made our day even more special. The day went off without a hitch, and this was due in no small part to the wonderful staff and surroundings at Maryborough. The room looked amazing and I still remember the feeling of excitement when we stepped into it for the first time! Everyone we spoke to raved about the ambiance and service and in particular about the food! The marquee in the garden for our drinks reception was a really nice touch and again many people commented on how lovely it was. On the day Hugh was in the background ensuring that everything went well and was a pleasure to deal with. From the moment we stepped out of the wedding car for our drinks reception to the very end of the night, our day in Maryborough was simply flawless! We would highly recommend Maryborough as a first-class wedding venue.

families and friends. since the wedding day everyone has been commenting on the quality of the rooms and the food. the dome out the side is a fantastic idea and really an added bonus for any wedding. the grounds also at the Maryborough are amazing and i got some really beautiful shots at different locations throughout the grounds. all in all a fantastic location for any event but especially for a Wedding. i would really rate the Maryborough 5/5.

beautiful 5 star extravanganza , staff were so nice and accommodating with several requests . The dinner was absolutley ravishing , all the guests were talking how nice the food was especially for a big wedding of 195 . The room itself was stunning with no extra flowers or costs needed . The staff from when we booked the wedding until it was over could not have been more helpful & friendly . The only regret I have is that I never organised a post wedding barbuque for the Sunday , but still all friends and family chilled out in beautiful gardens for the afternoon having a few glasses of wine reminiscing about the days events . All in all I would highly reccommend the Maryborough to anyone who wants a beautiful , elegant and quality day . It is well worth it !!! Xxxxx
